Dang no laser beams Though I think they should give Gazers laser beam eyes. Different colors for different resists. And the elders would alway target your weakest. That would be cool.... Gazers w/laser beam eyes.. pew pew pew

It was more of opening for them to say they are reviewing possible stackables as a whole.

Yeah, because they've only been 'reviewing' them for SEVERAL YEARS NOW.

At least they ACKNOWLEDGE the EC again… Still want more details on what they are doing to it... And some dev activity on the closed beta boards would be nice – else why bother having them?

Stackable hay. Wait.. Do people USE hay? Anything without unique properties should be stackable. All consumables (ingredients, etc.) and I’d love to see an actual retroactive fix for some of the things that should stack but don’t.. Old chocolate… Granite… etc.

So why is there a closed beta board? What is in closed beta now? Open it up for all.

These boards are used throughout the company with all of our games. UO, DAOC, and WAR. Also, the Enhanced Client is in Open Beta so we can freely talk about the client to everyone

Please look at arcane gems new and old, seeds new and old. threads from maginica.
Please fix stocking vendors. I liked it when I could stock one vendor from another. lately the game thinks my back pack is another vendor and I can't move items from one vendor to my backpack and then on to another vendor. I actually have to drop items from my backpack on the ground before I can actually place them on the vendor, and sometimes items from a vendor won't restack when placed in your backpack.

Lovely..stackable hay but nothing about fixing things like luck and such. I am awed by the level of questions fielded.

I have to concur with Canary here, wholeheartedly in fact. Aside from one post this week which responded to the growing numbers of EC devotees who have been afflicted with the black terrain bug, there has been -zero- communication about the EC's development.

There has one been one patch to the client that has even come close to addressing any of its mounting issues, and the stability fix therein was honestly more of a curse.

The Mythic Beta Boards were shut down prematurely, and what remains is a sad shadow of what was... There were still active threads detailing the myriad bugs, issues, and improvements needed. You had a captive lab of guinea pigs to test with, yet you tossed them aside for the farce of 'open beta'. If this were a true beta, the devs responsible for the EC would be communicating and interacting with those of us who use the EC every day.

There needs to be far more transparency in how the Dev Team goes about improving the EC, and UO as a whole. You've mentioned increased communication, lets start to see it.

Hawkeye Pike has been compiling a vast list of the EC's issues. This thread should have had at least one Dev response in the (nearly) 3 MONTHS it has been active. Honestly, it should be the thread that has had the most Dev activity on all of Stratics...

You say you can 'talk freely' about the EC now, lets see it in practice.

If they only field questions people submit, I guess we should only be mad at those people for submitting them :P.

But yeah, Pollo Ranchos, they are popular.

Then what, exactly, is preventing you doing so?

So far, there hasn't even been acknowledgement of the detailed and growing list of problems, just a vague 'we're looking at it', 'we want it to work' and 'we're making it better', whilst making it increasingly unplayable.

My impression is 'freely talking' means "we'll talk at you, not listen, and certainly not engage in a conversation about what's wrong, and only consider admitting anything is ever wrong if faced with overwhelming evidence and through gritted teeth".

I doubt anybody who is struggling to get this client to work so they can play the game they are paying for is impressed with the current state of affairs, either the software or the EA 'PR'.

How about issues that have been around since ML beta, and are still there? Go get me a screenshot of a red and brown drake, and a red and brown dragon for me in the EC would you kindly?

Disgraceful, this is something that has been in UO since day 1.

Ahhhh good ole 2d.

I`ve always wondered why they chose to drastically change their game with a new client and all kinds of new art, etc. Why they couldn`t stick with what works and make little changes to the existing game/art to make a better client is beyond me.

2d with more refined graphics and some things the EC brought like resizable windows, maps, etc. would have been far more accepted and I`m sure wouldn`t have been so hard to repair/fix.

I personally don`t want a rebuilt version of UO. I want a better looking and more functional 2d UO,not a redrawn abomination.

I can`t help but smile a little when I read about the woes of the EC and the lack of communication about its problems from our fearless leaders. Reminds me of days gone by.

Viva la 2d!!!!

If you drop the item onto the backpack on your paperdoll after it's been in your main pack once, this problem goes away. No need to drop anything on the ground that someone could pick up.

I agree good ole 2d... I'd like to play the EC I really would... but the "graphics" are so horrible the colors so muted and the picture so blurry that I can only stand to play in it for about 40 min.... given that I typically play from about 4pm to 11pm.... that leaves me short about 6 hours of play.

Furthermore.... the horrible "radar/Map" in the EC can only be resized if you download someone else's stuff and put it on your pc.... not something I want to do... I don't care how "safe" someone says it is... And I'm no computer programmer .... so that's not going to happen and if I have to make improvements to the thing myself to make it playable what does that say???

I asked 100's of times about the housing issues both in the EC and in 2d... but I was told that it was not the focus of the Beta... but when it was then they would take my reports about it... Well Beta is over... and I'm still waiting... When are we getting to the housing issues? I'd really like to know because that's why I play UO... beyond the RP... Housing design and deco IS very important to me. Having it stink like it does right now is an issue and I know I'm not alone. When will we get back up to the way it was in KR? The housing menu and function of KR was far superior to the craptastic garbage that you put in the EC... Why have we taken a major step backwards??? If there was anything I liked about KR it was the housing menu...

And finally... while we are on the subject of upcoming things... for the love of god remember that more than 12 people play UO... Hell there are more than 12 people playing UO who have played more than the last 4 years... and many who have been playing since day one... Don't do events that are geared only to scripters and people who do nothing but play UO... remember most of your player base is a casual player... we play mainly in the evenings... our evenings... we do NOT play at server up most of us... so gearing a really sweet item such as the conjurers robe to an event that starts at server up and is basically over 2 hours later isn't going to score you any points amongst your long time player base... Those who have been loyal to UO since the beginning... Those who play normal hours.

You know its fine and all to have unique items to give away say at like EM events but items that give advantage like the robe.. should be available to EVERYONE... not just a select 12. That's BS... and you know it. It's fine if you want to let the EM's give out 12 items that are say a special named weapon that has no different mods than anything else available in the game but maybe comes in a nifty color with a cool name that's fine.... give out a lantern that is a neat color... give out a named robe or something... if you want to create items that are "rare" for folk to get... but do it fairly, do it in a random manner not to the one who puts in the last hit... or the most damage that isn't "fair". That's silly and only serves to tick off your player base... why? Because when you do that then the "rares" always seem to go to the same 12 people... everytime..... and quite frankly everyone else gets a bit ticked off by that... and then decides that your events are loaded and a bunch of smeg and they refuse to participate in them... eventually these people become fed up... and they quit. I don't think that's what any of us want.

Try to put some thought into these things... and remember more than 12 people are going to participate. People who care about UO. Everyone likes rares... but the rares shouldn't give advantages. Try to make the game fun for everyone. Not just the first 12 people. Or you may risk alienating the other 500 people...

So we're a couple months into SA and we're already at the point where people are asking "Is this client even still supported?" while the devs go "Yeah we're trying to fix it's stability!"

Shocking. Not.
