Truly pathetic. :(
So I was hanging out with a bunch of friends at the ol' pub last night, guzzlin' beers, doing the trivia game and just shootin the breeze. So I get up and tell everyone I gotta go.
Jason: "Boy look at him dart out of here. Got another date with that roller derby girl, dontcha Mikey?"
I guess I should have told him the real reason I was ditching beer/trivia night.....
"Actually, Jayce... I've gotta hurry up and get home so that I can collect Corporeal Essences and collect sparklies and dungeons. Oh, and then I gotta go trick or treating in Heartwood, because I really really want to get some more murky milk and harvest wine! Dates, who needs em when you can have all this?!!"
Ah, UO.

Last weekend I skipped on having dinner with my GF at her family's place before we went out last Saturday so I could have a little extra time playing UO. "I've got a lot to do around the house before we go out tonight. Mind if I skip dinner and just meet you at your place around 7:00?"
That sounds horrible when you type it out and read it.

Don't worry - just get your GF playing and she'll begin to understand!

This is one reason why i left uo...I finally realized that i was spending waaaayyy too much time playing uo, instead of with my wife and newborn baby...
I needed to realize that its JUST a game, and theres a lot more important things then spending all day trying to make a quick mil to spend on something useless in game...
Instead of spending all day grinding a spawn or doing bods, now i play with the baby, relax with the wife, and in the end we're all a lot happier here at home.

You know even though we're old we just had a baby (on purpose).
He's almost 3 months now. He sits on my lap & coos while I kill things, and do work in game. You know I can feed a baby with one hand. :-)
So, I'm playing with my baby while I play uo. My son will be home in a few hours, and that boy gets wreck on some monsters. My whole family plays, and we love it. You hear about how good the old days were. They sucked. Many, many people were killed, their houses robbed. ALL the work they ever did stolen from them. THESE are the good days.
Long Live UO!!

Well, when the decision comes to spending time with my child and playing UO, UO will fall to the wayside.
When it's playing UO or having an uncomfortable dinner with people that are essentially my in-laws (if I were married), UO has a slight advantage in that battle.

When I come back home from work, my fiance (who lives with me) starts bragging randomly and usually finds something to blame on me. On saturday, she brags about the groceries and the bills. On sunday, she brags about the neighbours and usually about the fact that shops are closed (which she concludes must be my fault in some way).
So I started playing UO and in the end we're alot happier now that I just play and ignore all the bragging.

A while ago Terry and I were invited to a party, flash job in a hired hall, wedding anniversary, but we knew only the anniversary couple, none of their friends, all were younger than us.
He looked at me, I looked at him, we unanimously decided we'd both rather stay home and play UO. It's a lot easier to play with a clear conscience when it's a shared hobby.

I play UO..... my son plays FF..... we are both happy.
If ever I marry again... my husband would either have to be a UO addict... or he'd have to be on the road... A LOT... WAY into sports to where he wouldn't care if I was online playing UO all the time.....
Extremely rich... and gone all the time.... wait... that's the best one yet.. yeah I want that guy.... no I want one that is extremely rich.... plays UO like an extreme addict... and can buy UO from EA when it goes down... so I can be in charge of content..... yeah.... that's what I want....
*daydreams about what it would be like to be in charge of UO*

Cut out the middleman. Just get rich yourself and stay single. Hire gigalos for the UO downtime.

UO was kinda my life while incubating. All I was allowed to do from the minute doctors found out I was preggers was sit, walk, stay. Grrrrr!
Now with premie twin boys there's very little time to even sleep sometimes!
I still plug into UO for escape. I've got Sam where he loves to sit and watch Mommy skill away. Sometimes Mommy has one hand on the mouse and the other wrapped around baby holding a bottle in his mouth!
UO is STILL the cheapest form of entertainment for me! LOL

I cant live without UO... I cant even go an hour without thinking about it, or playing it in my head. Yeah, im that sad. :P

Eh, would probably just find something equally meaningless to eat up all your time.

LoL !!
I still remember the night housing was to be turned on, for Trammel. My wife and I were invited to have dinner at a friends. I couldn't get out of the dinner, there were a total of six couples including us, some of our oldest and closest friends.
The friends that hosted te dinner party had just moved into a new 5 bedroomhome on a man made lake about 15 minuted from our home. Lot's of room for 2 people and their 2 dogs
Needless to say I wasn't very good company that night, I was extreemly pre-occupied. My wife made excuses for me, "He hasn't been feeling well today". I think what was making me sick, was missing the start of housing and all those prime spots I had ready to place
We actually left the party fairly early and I thought "The Castle spot is most likely gone but maybe I can place the Keep or one of the Towers"
You can imagine my surprise when I was able to log on and the Castle spot was still there! Two others were there as well trying to place, I thought I had it but was tel-stormed to east brit. Recalled to my spot (took about five minutes I think, could have been 30 seconds, seemed like an hour) was the only one there and placed just as three others recalled to the area to attempt to place.
That was the one and only time my wife and I were the first to leave one of those dinner party's. Came at just the right time.
I never have been able to get my wife to try UO, but she does understand what a stress reliever it is for me. Now she and our Daughter and Daughter-in-Law all farm on Face-Book. They ae all as addicted to that as I am to UO.

They will be drunk and know useless information.
You will have interesting pixelstuff that you can brag about to anonymous people on the boards, and the satisfaction that you sorta did more than they did while costing less.
And know useless information.
All in all, I'd say it's a wash.

I was cleaning my house between bouts of UO on a marathon weekend (had to use up some vacation time so took 4 days over Halloween weekend). I skipped the annual Halloween march in Waikiki - shut off my light and passed out no candy. The weekend was stricly for UO & the events I host... I didn't even go say "peaceful samhain" to Mom... I closed myself off to everyone for my pixel addiction.
But I digress...
So I was sweeping in the kitchen, damned dust bunnies between the fridge & the wall!! Then the broom swished against a cardboard box and made a sound not unlike those hide-and-seek snakes in Ter Mur.
I jumped right outta my skin! I actually spun around swinging the broom and yelped out loud expecting to see that comical large headed snake thing coming at me! I could just about feel the fangs sinking into my calves! My spine was tingling! The adrenaline pumping! My hair standing on end!
Then I realized what happened, and I felt so embarrassed although no one was there! But I was still feeling the willies as I finished sweeping the kitchen......

Please.
Nowadays UO has nowhere NEAR the community of old UO. These are the good days if you like acting like a robot with your family.

i took a day off work last week to do the halloween event. That should say enough about me.
my guildmate in vent noticed one player consistently down in the same dungeons gathering the essences so he struck up a conversation with him.
guildmate: man u been down here all day... do u work?
player: i'm at work right now, managing a warehouse. They think i'm working hard in my office right now. lmao
we fell about the place in vent as he relayed the conversation.
i bought an aircard so i could play at lunch and while traveling on business
yeah, i'm hooked

Due to work, life and general weirdness I've had to spend what is soon turning into 2 years away from my wife and daughter, literally on either side of the planet. Without Skype and webcams to talk to them daily, and UO during times where I can't talk to them, I would have gone insane and/or jumped off something tall a long time ago.
UO is the only social interaction I need, want and have. People suck.
